Yes according to Marx and Engels , as reiterated and elaborated by Lenin, there will be no state at all in full Communism. For the whole Stone Age there was no state. Human society has been stateless for the vast majority of its existence. It has been communist ( no private property ) , too. See Engels's _The Origin of the Family, Private Property and the State_ . Modern anthropology and archaeology have fully confirmed Engels on this point . Society was stateless before 6,000 years ago when the state originates.

We did it before . We can do it again.

As Engels explains and Lenin ( _The State and Revolution _) reiterates essentially and elaborates for purposes of preparing for socialist insurrection IN THE CONCRETE SITUATION OF RUSSIA 1917, the state arises in a complex with private property as a way for the private property owning exploiting class to protect its property and riches from the classes it is exploiting ( see _Manifesto of the Communist Party_). So, to make a long story short, when private property in the basic means of production is affirmatively abolished , the state just "withers away", dies on the vine on its own without any need for taking up arms against it to affirmatively abolish it like private property. That's the basic idea from Engels and Lenin.
