? Thus states the announcement from Peking University. In a country with 1.5 billion people and a party with at least 80 million members, it is safe to say that China has more Marxists of all hue within its borders than any other country on earth. If most Marxists in most countries are not party members and consider themselves to be independents of political groups, China can be said to house well over 150-200 million Marxists. I will not try to categorize the character of the Marxism of 200 million people about whom I have no information about.

The noted economist and Marxist theorist Michael Hudson presented a paper focusing on globalization and speculative finance.

Michael Hudson’s “Paradox of Financialized Industrialization” focuses on the question of what is the essence of today's economic crisis within capitalism. In his debate with Bertell Ollman, both speak only of crisis internal to the capitalist system. In fact, the fundamental crisis of 21st century capitalism is not internal to capitalist property relations, but is instead caused by qualitative changes in the means of production, which change the landscape in which capital operates. http://michael-hudson.com/ WL
