Origin of the dog collar

"The development of dog collar was suggested shortly after dogs were domesticated which is believed to have happened in Mesopotamia. A golden pendant of a dog was found in southern Iraq at the Sumerian city of Uruk (3300 BC) and a cylinder seal from Nineveh (North iraq) (3000 BC) evidence of the dog collar in use at that time."
