Campaign for Democrats everyday some kinda way

My favorite map that tells the story is this one, representing each county by a circle scaled to it's population size.

In spite of the efforts by politicians to choose their voters, the reality on the ground is that most Americans are independent in their politics. Or at least want to be viewed as independent. It seems that most Americans are in not in favor of extremes in their politics. The independent voters want a party that is also more focused on their needs, as opposed the needs of the party. The Democratic Party gets more support because they appear to be more voter focused, and extreme resistant. The Republicans are a minority party is because they appear to be the opposite.
