In the midterms the party holding the White House loses seats. That's it.

I saw Obama's press conference after the election. He indicated he will stay the course he has started of trying to spread the wealth to those left out. I felt like his theme or sub-text was that he not take this election as a referendum on him, and he was going to take his direction from the two elections which he won as the message from the voters; not this one.

  The unpopularity of Obama is a a Conservative talking point used to explain his popularity after he scored two national victories. The people he's popular with don't count. Or they aren't smart enough to have voted for McCain or Romney. In the midterms the party holding the White House loses seats. That's it.
