DAILY KOS Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson was confirmed to the U.S. Supreme Court on April 7, and now the Senate Judiciary Committee is back to work processing other judicial nominees for circuit and district courts.
After throwing hysterical, racist fits during Justice Jackson’s hearings, we know Republicans on the committee will try every trick to slow down other judicial nominations from moving forward, particularly considering that highly-qualified Black women such as Nancy Abudu and Michelle Childs are expected to come before the committee soon.
Three additional nominees deeply dedicated to civil rights and justice for all—Charlotte Sweeney, Dale Ho, and Hernán Vera—already had hearings, but received tied votes and are awaiting a discharge motion so their nominations can advance to the full Senate floor.
