This threat to the rich actually demonstrates how the rich are mooching off of the poor in the close physical contact between them. In these organic connections the rich are getting services from the poor in a billion different ways. The human species is highly social and interdependent. The rich are not independent; their wealth doesn't make them independent individuals.
