Republicans damned if they do and damned if they don’t support Trumpy

In 2016 I predicted that if Dems could beat Trumpy in 2020, the Republicans would fall into a damned if they do support Trump and damned if they don’t . Trump’s Presidency made him unpopular, but he retained his fanatics, a 25–30% minority who will leave the Republicans if Trumpy isnt the candidate; if they were to leave because trump isn’t the candidate, Dems win in a landslide - Republicans damned if they don’t support Trump . But if Trump is the next nominee they’re damned too , because he lost in 2020 and he isn’t gaining any new votes , probably losing votes from 2020.
