All human societies , not just capitalism , have gender starting with the first humans 100,000's of years ago. It is a defining characteristic of our species.
Engels , in _The Origin of the (male supremacist) Family , Private Property and the State_, correctly says that before civilization in the Stone Age there was no male supremacy but equality between women and men. Modern anthropology confirms this.
Marxists are for abolition of male supremacy , not binary gender. Binary gender assigned based on sex , which is absolutely binary , is a fundamental human right and universal human culture.
Gender is assigned _by society_ , not based on subjective feelings of individuals , but based on objective biological characteristics .
Social constructs are materialist . Individual subjective constructs , constructs based on subjective feelings are subjective idealist . Designating ones own gender based on subjective feelings is subjective idealism .
Most of humans' material environment is socially constructed.
