Comments on Impeachment and Conviction of Trump

Impeachment is the Constitutional indictment of a President with the House as a Grand , Grand Jury. The Senate conducts the trial with the Chief Justice sitting as judge.

Leader Pelosi is very prudent , jurisprudential , sober as a judge in her statements about proceeding deliberately and impartially on impeachment. The House will be part prosecutor part judge in impeachment.

No judgement based on news stories . Only Congressional hearings,We , the People , as the Grandest Jury must be able to disregard what We have heard in the media and only look at the evidence presented to Congress , like the evidence Michael Cohen is presenting to Congress.

A lot of it based on what Mueller has already filed in court , including convictions : Importantly , Mueller has already proven Trump _criminally conspired _ with Russia _through evidence that his employees_ directly_ conspired with Russia. Conspiracy almost never involves _all_ conspirators directly committing the crime underlying the conspiracy ( unless it's a bank robbery, or the like). That is the definition of criminal conspiracy -not all conspirators have to participate directly in the crime. It is cogently provable by circumstantial evidence . Don't have to have a smoking gun , direct statement from the co-conspirator.

However, Senate will not convict , so can't get Trump out and stop the damage he's doing except by the 2020 election .

I see impeachment even if only Dems vote for it. The House Dems are playing it with cunning . They are not going to take in all this evidence of crimes and then tell their constituents  they can't impeach. They'll just say all the Republicans are lying and covering up.


Separation of powers , a fundamental legal principle , is a law that the President is a co-equal branch of government with federal courts and therefore cannot be indicted while sitting as Prez. And the Constitution is the Supreme Law of the Land, preempting state criminal statutes .

I think Trump could order the Army , Navy, Marines, Air Force, FBI , CIA and Secret Service to arrest any state officers sent to arrest him. He's the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.
