It basically proved Marx's prediction on the direction or form that capitalism would tend to and develop toward.

A common sense way to understand the tendency to monopoly out of competition is to consider that eventually somebody wins competitions. There are winners and losers in "the market". It's like a playoff in sports. There are many vanquished and one winner. Competition is not endless, but is for keeps. cutthroat driving others to bankruptcy. And often there is success at this. Thus, more and more concentration of wealth is an inherent tendency , and it accumulates historically.

so historically , the tendency of capitalist accumulation and competition is concentration of accumulation. Sure enough, here we are in 2014 with the greatest concentration of wealth in history. Where's that facebook meme on 70 people have as much wealth as all the rest of the world ! Marx was correct, alright.


In the same time period of this quote from Teddy Roosevelt the alleged trust buster, Lenin, a real trust buster wrote _Imperialism: the Highest Stage of Capitalism_ . There he coins the concept of "state-monopoly" or greater dominance of the government by the "great " or "monopoly " corporations. Republicans , the Party of the 1% ( the "One" Capitalists , who "kill" many other capitalists) want the 99% to be struggling continuously : class struggle.

Ask yourself WHY , WHY , WHY did Republicans say let them eat cake , no bailout for the People, when We were in the covid pandemic economic depression, with long food lines and mass unemployment? Why when We know the federal government can afford it because they bailed out big businesses for trillions during the pandemic ?

Because We are in a class struggle , 1% beating down on the 99% ! Republicans keeping the masses down so they don’t have the strength to fight back .

Furthermore, My hypothesis is that in the US , many of the 1% want recession and economic crisis because they can make killings better when many business are failing. Thus, the current tea Republicans in Congress, as agents of the biggest bourgeoisie, push austerity knowing that it will hurt the economy ,not help it. They know that it is a lie that cutting the budget to balance the budget will do anything good for "the" economy , but will tend to create more crisis; and in crisis the One capitalists (that Karl Marx refers to above )kill many other capitalists.

Furthermore, the class conscious bourgeoisie are constantly trying to increase the number of unemployed, because that puts downward pressure on wages. The unemployed are competing for jobs and will accept lower pay to replace those employed. So, this is a second reason the bourgeoisie actually _want_ crisis, economic depression.

Finally, the bourgeoisie want the masses of proletarians to be struggling and in economic dire straits so that they have to spend all their time struggling and don't have time for politics. They want to beat down the proletarians physically , mentally, economically , fighting each other over the crumbs; because the bourgeoisie know there is a constant class struggle going on , and the 99% are their class enemies. The 99% , most of them, are not class conscious, do not know they are in a class war and don't fight back."

There’s a genuine class struggle in the Democratic Party ; sometimes the working class wins ; sometimes the Bourgeoisie win. The Bourgeoisie totally dominate the Republicans. So, campaign for Democratic votes everyday some kinda way; abolish the Republican Party as We, the Majority, know it. The US path to revolution is accumulation of reforms, quantitative change transforming into qualitative change as with water boiling . No progress without struggle; the struggle continues; more victories are certain; freedom is a constant struggle, especially _electoral_ class struggle, smart , effective, electoral, partisan struggle; campaign for Democratic votes everyday some kinda way like your life depends on it , because it really does ; abolish the Republican Party as We, the Majority, know it , as California and New York have at the polls.
