Materialism

People in the first place are animals ( see my first lectures of the class ). We are an animal species. As individuals We instinctively self-preserve and reproduce. We are different from all other animals in that We have language ( symbolic communication, words) and custom, tradition, culture or our behavior is based on learning from the experiences of many , many generations of dead ancestors. This gives a very big advantage over other animals in self-preserving and reproducing. These basics are true for People through Stone Age and so-called Civilization. True today ; basic about People in 2025 and will be true in 2050.
