Yes Black Bottom Detroit was removed , but Blacks then , liberated from confinement in Black Bottom, took over the whole city ! The whole city became overwhelmingly majority Black population. That's how Mayor Young was mayor for 20 years. Detroit became Black Top, with the old Black Bottom area , what I call Greater Lafayette Park, populated significantly with Duboisian Talented Tenths, Black Top's like Coleman Young himself.<
