"Change from the Bottom Up :Minimum Wage Hike Petition in Michigan"

In his campaigning for change as a candidate, President Obama always emphasized that change comes from the bottom up in history. So, when in 2013 ,as President he initiated a campaign to raise the "bottom" -wage, he was practicing what he had preached.

As President , Obama gave a bit of a shove to the Bottom, the 99%,  by raising the minimum wage for doing business with the federal government; he did this by Executive Order:

The historical potency and potential of the minimum wage as a battering ram for the 99% from the bottom up against the bourgeoisie is demonstrated by this economic study: http://theeconomiccollapseblog.com/archives/40-percent-of-u-s-workers-make-less-than-what-a-full-time-minimum-wage-worker-made-in-1968

Now , Wood television, Channel 8 in Grand Rapids, Holland and Kalamazoo, is reporting that the group with petitions to put minimum-wage on the ballot,  Raise Michigan , has enough signatures to get it on the ballot.

May 15, 2014  is slated as a national protest demonstration for raising the minimum wage to $15.00/hour. The effort to raise the minimum wage is a part of the upsurge in militancy in organizing low wage workers into unions, most notably at McDonald's and Walmart's. The fight for 15 is the organized effort of fast food workers to be paid $15 an hour and have the right to organize a union.

It would seem that the shills of the bourgeoisie in the tea Republican Party feel vulnerable in their soft underbelly to this thrust from the Bottom Up by the 99%. So, in Michigan , as usual , Republicans have resorted to demagogy, a feint and fake minimum wage poop; and shutting the People out of the process.

  1. I truly hope that the minimum wage in Michigan is raised! I'm glad Obama took the lead and pray that Michigan will follow. It pains me to see "those that have" make sure those that need are not getting what they deserve; especially since "those that have" are using the laborers to keep what they have.
