It is no accident that most people are not into politics. The system is designed to alienate people from politics. There is a vast apoliticizing culture in America. Thought Control far beyond anything in the novel _1984_. The Powers-that-be designed it long ago. They count on a minority of the population voting. The whole cultural theme of disdain for "politicians" and government is enculturated in the masses. It is an American passtime to dog out politicians, phony critical thinking. Mass apathy is inculcated, doesn't just pop up. The journalists and media are in on it. The original role of the press as the peoples' watchdog on government is perverted into a major way to make people "apathetic" about politics, to turn them off to it; to scapegoat government for the wrongs of the capitalists and the corporations , who are the true government

William Ted Brown -
The elections that solidified the racially biased south will change as the demographics change. What is most alarming is that money influenced elections. The Koch Brothers money spent on Louisiana defeated the last Blue Dog southern Democratic Senator. The elite are now calling the shots and all we have is Obama's veto pen to protect us from greed.

  • Suzette Sommer I so very seriously have no idea. There are so many important issues today - things that deeply affect all of our lives, and our futures - and the future of kids.... How can so few people take an interest ?????

Yet what do people seem to focus on?

The part of the world literally within their own arm span.

That is how it looks, to me.

  • Suzette Sommer Blows me away. When I am out and about, I will randomly ask people questions - just to get a sense of what they are aware of.

I have yet to have anybody know who ALEC is. Nobody.

And, I don't care how "smart" they supposedly are.

People simply are not paying any attention to politics or issues.

  • Suzette Sommer They get a "deer in the headlights" look on their face.

As if they "know" they "should know" but they have no clue.

  • Suzette Sommer If you have no idea who is trying to tear your world apart, how do you defend yourself and your own interests??
